A global Budokan Karate organisation founded by Chew Choo Soot, developing skill, character and confidence through science-informed training and tradition.
What is KBI
Karate Budokan International is a global martial arts organisation dedicated to the practice and teaching of Budokan Karate.
KBI is defined by respect, integrity, service with humility, and the continuous pursuit of excellence.
Our focus is on maintaining the quality, integrity, and spirit of the art. We are committed to developing not only technical skill, but also character, discipline, and respect.
Budokan Karate is grounded in scientific understanding — biomechanics and exercise physiology.
Tradition is respected, but it began as innovation, and we do not allow it to limit progress.

KBI-World Leadership
KBI-World is entering a new era of clarity, unity, and global collaboration. We are committed to strengthening Budokan standards worldwide while honouring the legacy of our founder, Chew Choo Soot.
Grades currently held by our KBI-World members are recognised, but those seeking grading from the Elders must meet the required standard. Higher ranks demand higher levels of skill, teaching ability, and character.
